Decades in 770
Rabbi Schapiro was privileged to spend many formative years in 770 — first as a bochur, later as a chozer, and then as a member of the Rebbe's Kolel. In recent years he began recording these memories, with a particular emphasis on events he personally witnessed and experiences he remembered firsthand — stories that range from major historic occasions to small, personal details of daily life in 770.
“The project took on special meaning when Rabbi Schapiro's grandson, Mendel Levertov, helped transcribe and prepare the recordings for publication in connection with his Bar Mitzvah.”
